Terms of Service

Our terms and conditions

Effective date: November 1, 2025

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of StoryFox, an AI-personalized bedtime story service operated by Marouane Daoudi, a sole proprietor doing business as StoryFox (“StoryFox,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who can use StoryFox

StoryFox is a service for parents and legal guardians. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract to create an account. Children do not create or hold their own accounts. A parent or guardian uses StoryFox on behalf of the child and is responsible for everything that happens on their account, including the use of generated stories with minors.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Tell us at hello@storyfox.net immediately if you believe someone has accessed your account without your permission. We may suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe are being used in violation of these Terms.

3. The Service

StoryFox generates personalized bedtime stories using artificial intelligence. You create profiles for your child (name, age, interests, an optional photo) and we generate stories, illustrations, and audio narration tailored to that profile. Premium and Ultra subscribers may additionally clone a voice and use it to narrate stories.

StoryFox is a creative and entertainment product. It is not a medical, therapeutic, or educational service. Generated stories are not a substitute for professional advice of any kind.

4. Plans, billing, and refunds

We offer a Free tier and paid subscription tiers (Premium and Ultra) billed monthly via Stripe. Prices, included story quotas, and feature limits are shown on the Pricing page and may change with notice.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel from your billing settings.
  • You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you keep access until then.
  • Payments are non-refundable except where required by law. If you believe you have been billed in error, contact us within 14 days at hello@storyfox.net and we will review the charge in good faith.
  • Unused stories or credits in a billing month do not roll over.

5. Voice cloning consent

Premium and Ultra subscribers may upload an audio sample to clone a voice for narration. By uploading a voice sample you represent and warrant that:

  • The voice belongs to you, or you have obtained the explicit, informed, written consent of the person whose voice it is.
  • You have the legal right to use that voice for AI-generated narration of bedtime stories on StoryFox.
  • You will not use cloned voices to impersonate, defame, harass, commit fraud, generate sexual or violent content involving minors, or create content that infringes anyone's rights.

You can delete a cloned voice from your account at any time, which removes it from our partner provider (Cartesia). If we are notified that a voice was cloned without consent, we will remove it immediately and may terminate the account responsible. Voice clones are processed through Cartesia, our voice-AI provider; see our Privacy Policy for details.

6. AI-generated content

Stories, illustrations, and audio produced by StoryFox are generated by AI models from OpenAI and Cartesia. AI output can be inaccurate, inconsistent, or repeat itself. Review generated stories before sharing them with your child if you are concerned about content fit.

To the extent we hold any rights in AI-generated outputs produced from your inputs, we grant you a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and share those outputs for your personal, non-commercial family use. You may not resell or redistribute StoryFox-generated content as a commercial product.

7. Your content and license to us

You retain ownership of the content you submit to StoryFox (child profile details, photos, voice samples, story prompts). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, process, and transmit that content solely to operate the Service for you, route it to our AI partners to fulfill your requests, and maintain backups. This license ends when you delete the content or close your account, subject to reasonable backup retention.

We do not train any of our or our partners' AI models on your inputs or outputs. Our processing contracts with OpenAI and Cartesia prohibit training on customer data.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to use StoryFox to:

  • Generate sexual, violent, hateful, or otherwise harmful content involving minors.
  • Impersonate a real person, including by uploading their voice without their explicit consent.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract underlying AI prompts, weights, or proprietary code.
  • Resell, redistribute, or expose the Service to other end users as a white-labeled or branded product.
  • Violate any applicable law, including export controls and sanctions.

9. Termination

You can close your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or that continued access poses a risk to the Service or to other users. On termination we delete your data on the schedule described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from a course of dealing or trade usage. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StoryFox will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $100.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless StoryFox and its operator from any claim, demand, or damages, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from (a) your use of the Service, (b) content you submit, including voice samples and photos, or (c) your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Delaware will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, and you and StoryFox consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts. You waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in any class action against StoryFox.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you by email or through the Service before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the changes.
